Writer : David Rudkin, a world premiere reading from Frances Grey
Director : Jack McNamara

We are delighted to present a world premiere live reading of Where There is No More Sea, featuring acclaimed Scottish actress Frances Grey, on Saturday 10 June, 6.30pm at NFT3, BFI Southbank, London. This marks the seventh installment in a series of ten audio works set in specific locations across the UK. Each PlacePrint gives voice to a presence that continues to haunt its chosen location.

The voice here belongs to a young Scottish actress attempting to enter into the tragic true story of Margaret Wilson, the Solway Martyr executed by tidal drowning in 1685 for refusing to swear allegiance to the English crown.

The reading rounds off a day-long symposium on Rudkin's seminal Play for Today, Penda's Fen. The reading will be followed by a screening of the film.
